A Class XII student was dead by a previous class fellow and his confederate once he resisted their plan to abduct him. Police exhumed the body of Rajat Arora, 17, from Dosanjh Bir (forest) area on late Fri evening, a day after his killers drop it there.
Police have arrested one suspect in the case and are looking for his accomplice, who is currently absconding. they have reserved the two for murder.
Police began investigations once the parents of Rajat, a student of Arya Senior secondary school, Nabha, filed a missing grievance on Thursday evening. They told police that Rajat had gone to play cricket along with his friends in Ripudaman college grounds here in the morning and not came back home in Khok village ever since.
Their investigations unconcealed the involvement of one of Rajat’s old classmates Sukhbir Singh and his senior Inderjit Singh, each resident of Khokage. Inderjit, who was arrested on Fri morning, told his interrogators that he and Sukhbir had planned to abduct Rajat for an enormous ransom from his parents, who were both government employees.
