Ralph Fiennes revealed that he was completely unaware of the fanfare that the Harry Potter books enjoyed nor was he in the loop as of the film franchise when he was first offered the role of Lord Voldemort. This had led him to initially consider turning down the idea.
He was offered to play ‘He who must not be named’ for when he finally appears in the flesh in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that released in 2005.
It was his Sister Martha’s good judgement and nudge that lead him to accept the now iconic role of Lord Voldemort.
The 56 year old British thespian was told off by his sister, thus
“What do you mean? You’ve got to do it”
A mother of 3 preteens , she seemed to have had more knowledge of the Wizarding books than her brother. Fiennes came out with this revelation in an appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show.
