The 53rd annual Academy of Country Music Awards or ACM Awards kicked off with gltz and glamour. All the country starts were under one roof on April 15. Stars like Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and more walked the carpet in spectacular gowns. Hosted by Reba McEntire, the show was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and aired live on CBS. But before the show, there was the (blue) carpet.
Miranda wore a red sequin and chiffon gown with cutouts on the top by Georges Chakra. Maren Morris looked like a gorgeous mermaid in a holographic green strapless dress. Reba looked like an angel in a floor-length white fringe dress before the show. Kelsea Ballerini also wore white — her dress featured a lace bodice, with a chiffon skirt with a thigh-high slit. Carrie looked gorgeous on the carpet before hitting the stage!
Tegan Marie wore a long-sleeve, embellished gold dress with her hair sleek and straight. Lindsay Ell wore a silver and white halter dress with cutouts showing off her cleavage and toned abs! Super sexy! Kaylin Roberson was red hot in a strapless gown with silver sequin belt. Madison Marlow wore a lavender Maria Lucia Hohan dress and posed with Taylor Dye, who wore a black midi dress with colorful flowers.
Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard wore an all-red ensemble and Brian Kelley was in all-white when they hit the stage with pop singer Bebe Rexha to perform the massive hit “Meant to Be,” which is spending its 19th week on top of Billboard’s Hot country songs chart. It ties Leroy Van Dyke’s “Walk On By” as the third longest-running song of all-time on the chart.
The longest-running No. 1 song of all-time on the country charts, Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road,” won single record of the year at the ACMs; Hunt didn’t attend the show.
Little Big Town sang Elton John’s “Rocket Man” in celebration of the icon’s new album, “Restoration,” which features country singers covering his songs. Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina were impressive when they sang their duet, “What Ifs.” Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Kelsea Ballerini, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum and Dierks Bentley also performed.
