Janardhan Kadam (60), a resident of Nallasopara has been awarded a life imprisonment for raping a minor girl repeatedly by a local court at Vasai, Maharashtra. He has also slapped with a fine of Rs. 11,000 cash by the Additional Sessions Judge N R Pradhan on Friday. Prosecutors Ujjwala Moholkar and Jaiprakash Patil told the court that the victim, then 15, and Kadam resided in the same area.
In July 2014, Kadam, who was used to stalk the victim, then 15, on her way to the institution, took her to his house, spiked with drinks and raped her, the charge sheet said.
The court was further informed that later, on different occasions Kadam raped her by giving threats and calling her to his house. An NGO was being informed The victim following which a case was registered and Kadam was arrested.
