Sam Kerr, Australian Sensation Nominated for Ballon d’Or

2018 got to be the first year to have a women’s category for the Ballon d’Or.
And one of the first nominees to become part of this historical moment is Australian striker Sam Kerr.

Kerr has previously won Asian Player of the  year, young Australian of the year and Football Association’s Player of the Year Award.She is part of the elite Matildas- the Australian Women’s side.

Recently having scored 4 goals in the Tournament of Nations she helped her side reach victory against the top ranked US national side.

She is up against 15 other nominees that includes the like of Brazilian star forward Marta, along with Norway’s Ada Hegerberg and German international Dzsenifer Marozsan.

The Ballon d’Or has been awarded since 1956 by France Football Magazine for best male player in the world with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi dominating the last few years with five wins each.

It will be presented in Paris on December 3.
