The Cricket Writers’ Club young cricketer of the year award was presented to 20 year old Sam Curran.
Curran’s average is 36.50 withe bat. It is 23.23 with the ball – this after 5 tests.
His highest score is 78 and best bowling figures are 4 for 74.
He’s a left arm swing bowler who had made his test debut against Pakistan in June.
Curran was England’s ‘Man of the Series’ in their 4-1 bashing of India.
Now that he has made his way into the English national Team, he has a huge gap to fill given that Alistair cook recently retired.
Roreie Burns and Nathalie Sciver formed the trio along wth Curran, from Surrey Burns, who managed to sweep off all the awards.
