While addressing a joint sitting of parliament on the first day of Budget Session, the President of India Mr. Ramnath Kovind said, “My government is committed to double the farmers’ income by 2022” mentioning the success of ‘eNAM’-the digital National Agriculture Market. He informed that more than Rs 36,000 crore have been exchanged through this e-market. eNAM is a site where the farmers can sell their products.
He further added, “It is the result of the hard work of farmers, there has been a record production of more than 275 million tonnes food grains and over 300 million tonnes of fruits and vegetables”.
On the topic of Triple Talaq bill here President mentioned, “My government has brought the Triple Talaq Bill to safeguard the rights of the Muslim women. And I am hopeful that Parliament will pass the Bill” in an optimistic approach.
‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ scheme has been extended from 161 districts to 640 districts in the country, he informed, “The government has now amended the Maternity Bill by which the women can get ‘paid leave’ of up to 26 weeks instead of 12 weeks. Now the women can spend more time with their newborn babies”.
His key subject of today’s speech was the economic and social democracy. Quoting Ambedkar he exclaimed that the gov is trying to bring stability in the political democracy by bringing stability in the social and economic area.
