While addressing the Raisina Dialogue, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, said “Nation states that support terror to achieve their ends need to be tackled first”. He added more, “Terrorism is here to stay, unless the entire international community joins hands, comes together and fights this menace. Only then we can see peace… Terrorism cannot be a new form of warfare”.
He further raised his concerns over the funds and nuclear weapons that are falling into the hands of terrorists. He advocated curbs on Internet to control terror propaganda. In today’s discussion he didn’t take the name of Pakistan which is allegedly backing terrorists but indicated them in a smart manner. He further said to raid the sources of the funding of the terrorist groups as an important step to clean the dirt. According to him, the militant and political front of every terror group must be attacked to stop the terrorism.
“If that can happen, funding can stop, and source of weapon can be identified. I think that to an extent would put a check on the activities of the terrorists”, he concluded.
