The Sahid Rangashala Stadium in Nepal saw a chest thumping victory of the Indian Women’s Football team over their Sri Lankan counterparts to book a place in the semi-finals of the SAFF championship.
The Indian Team now sits at the top of the Group B with an unbeaten 21 matches to their name.
Sri Lanka now face Nepal while Bangladesh takes on the giants from India as runner -ups from Group A
The defending champions tasted blood right at the 4th minute mark as a shot from Sanju through the Left Wing rattled off the woodwork and the rebound was turned into a fantastic goal by Grace Dangmei.
The other goals were scored by Sangitha, Indumathi, Sangita and Ratanbala. 3 out of these remaining were all created thanks to the magic that Sanju conjured up in the wings.
India dominated throughout with possession and strategic attacks and could have easily attained a higher margin of win.
