Mr. S. B. Sinha, Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner on yesterday had informed the press that once the process of seeding Aadhaar is completed the multiple account numbers of an individual are supposed to be eliminated and the process will link the bank account of the PF account holders accordingly. The customer will be benefitted in managing their PF accounts and to claim settlements.
Almost 26 lakh regular members in the state at present are contributing, but the number of PF accounts issued from the state was about 70 lakh due to change in employment. Regional PF Commissioner Navendu Rai informed us about that. Since last July, a Universal Account Number (UAN) generation becomes mandatory Aadhaar seeding, bank details, and mobile number.
He further added, “An employee will not require transferring their PF account to the new employer as with Aadhaar-seeded UAN numbers, the transfer will happen automatically and seamlessly without any intervention of the member.”
