Queen of television, Ekta Kapoor will be making the remake of Karan Johar’s blockbuster family drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham as a daily soap, as per a Mumbai Mirror report. Earlier the producer had confirmed that she is all set to make a family soap after a long time.
Speculations are doing the rounds that Rajat Tokas of Jodha Akbar fame is being considered to play the role of Rahul (played by Shah Rukh Khan in the film).Varun Sood, who was last seen on MTV Splitsvilla, is reportedly in talks to play Rohan, Rahul’s younger brother, originally played by Hrithik Roshan.
“Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi actress Erica Fernandes is in talks to play either Kajol’s talkative Anjali or her younger sister, Pooja (popularised by Kareena as ‘Poo’). The part will be finalised after a look test”, a source was quoted as saying to Mumbai Mirror
Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kajol and Kareena Kapoor, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham told the story of the wealthy Raichand family. When Rahul Raichand (Khan) falls in love and marries a woman from a less privileged background, he is banished from the family. Years later, his younger brother (Roshan) sets out to find him and reunite the Raichands.
The makers are also apparently considering Bijoy Anand, best known for playing Kajol’s capricious fiance in Dil Toh Pagal Hai, to play the Yashvardhan Raichand, the mighty patriarch of the family. None of the actors concerned have confirmed these developments but these are assumptions being made. The actors will reportedly be finalised after a look test.
