Dj Marshmello happens to be one of the most sought after Djs internationally and thus it was a very significant day for EDM overs In India when he played in Gurgaon on Saturday, February 16.
Unfortunately, the event taking place right in the aftermath of the Pulwama suicide attack which has the nation in the grip of anger and frustration did not go too well with right wing activists.
They have now demanded a criminal case registration against the show’s organisers.
They submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Sub Divisional Magistrate (North ) Sanjeev Singla which mentions that it was wrong for a musical show that is meant for celebrations to take place amidst the national sombre mood as the nation mourned the death of more than 40 CRPF troops in at Pulwama on 14 February.
These groups who are protesting are hardliner groups from the Right Wing Fringe that seems to dominate the political space of India today and they include :
Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal, Hindu Kranti Dal, Hindu Jagran Manch, Hindu Sena and Shiv Sena.
Their attempts to materialise the threats of disrupting the show on Saturday went futile after heavy police deployment at the venue.
